Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel
The Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel is a longstanding place of worship and prayer that inspires students, colleagues, alumni and friends in their faith journeys.
In April 2021, Gannon celebrated the momentous re-opening of the Chapel after its closure in May 2019 due to a gas leak that was found underneath the building. Thanks to a lead gift by Monsignor Robert L. Brugger ’62, a longtime priest in the Catholic Diocese in Erie and a trustee of the University, a $2 million campaign was launched to help fund renovations to this campus landmark.
As a result, the Chapel has experienced significant transformation and now includes a new sanctuary, fellowship hall, courtyard reflection garden and parking lot, restoration of the Sacristy, kitchen and restrooms, state-of-the-art sound and digital equipment, and entranceways and storage.
Gifts to the Chapel will continue to enhance its appearance and amenities while providing a spiritual home for Gannon family and friends to grow in their spiritual walks.
